About Me

Developing games since 2011, founded Miris Mind by late 2012, releasing Side Quest, the studio's first commercial project in early 2016. In 2014 I started lecturing game developing classes. By late 2015 I finished my graduate specialization in Games. In 2017 i started teaching at graduation schools and now I'm focusing on starting a Masters degree.

Graduate Specialization in Games (Games: Produção e Programação) October 2015

Along with Dennys Mantovani, developed the paper "Avoiding break of immersion through the use of autonomous entities in cooperative games". We've explored the concepts of immersion in games from Huizinga's and Jesse Schell's works to the incredibly embracing Flow theory from Csikszentmihalyi, so essential to comprehend game Development. Basing on their knowledge and on of many others, we have developed an experiment which results confirmed that our approach was valid (though liable to be expanded and improved) to avoid break of immersion of one or more players in an multiplayer online experience.

Tecnologist Degree in Game Programming December 2011

By the end of the course, we had 4 months to make a game from scratch using Unity in a project that should involve the whole class. Among many difficulties, we've managed to created the Demo version of a game called Shadow of a Pirate, available at Kongregate. In this project I worked as programmer and animator.

Miris Mind

Co-Founder February 2012 - Present

As in any independent studio, I wore many hats from the begining. I started as a programmer and animator, but during the projects I also developed simple custom shaders, painted textures and modeled inorganic objects. Although is not my focus I also developed some characters for unreleased games we've made. Over the course of the projects I implemented the Scrum metodology in the team's workflow as well as created all the base documentation and workflow infrastructere used until today. Although I'm not active developing for the studio anymore I still work as a cosultant as well as fast prototyping the upcoming games and helping managing the studio.
